Sleep Health Evaluations
Psychiatric disorders profoundly impact both health and sleep, creating a cycle where sleep disturbances exacerbate physical and mental health issues, and these health problems, in turn, worsen psychiatric symptoms. Sleep plays a critical role in emotional regulation, memory consolidation, and physical recovery. When sleep is disrupted, as it often has bidirectional relation with presence and severity of psychiatric disorders, these essential processes are compromised, amplifying the negative effects on overall well-being. Almost all psychiatric disorders are associated with sleep disturbances including difficulty falling or staying asleep, nightmares, fragmented sleep, non-restorative sleep, hyperarousal, interruption of circadian rhythm, sleep apnea, and problems in consolidating and forming new memories during sleep. This leads to impaired daily functioning, emotional dysregulation, worsening symptoms of psychiatric disorders (i.e. autism, ADHD, anxiety, traumatic stress, mood disorder, etc.). At Bright Flourishing Health, we will use with our proprietary sleep health evaluation, including non-invasive wearable technology data and biomarker testing, in addition to reviewing sleep habits, lifestyle factors, and medical history, etc. if clinically indicated to develop tailored individualized treatment planning.
