Positive Biopsychosocial Evaluations

Mental health is a continuum bidirectional process, from positive biopsychosocial characteristics to symptoms of serious psychiatric disorders. Change along this spectrum is a gradual shift, your mental wellbeing can fluctuate over time depending on various internal and external factors, from the “healthy” end towards mental illness in which positive characteristics may diminish, and clinical symptoms may begin to emerge. Through our adapted Positive Biopsychosocial Evaluations, our clinicians are able to understand your strength and limitations. This includes coping skills and characteristics, responsiveness to feedback, handling of various situations, adaptability and bouncing back from adversity and/or other mental health issues. This positive evaluation model emphasizes a strengths-based approach, assessing you through biological, psychological, and social connectedness domains. Rather than focusing solely on deficits – psychiatric symptoms – the addition of our unique positive psychiatry approach “Positive Biopsychosocial Evaluations” to the traditional deficit model, highlights wellness, resilience, flexibility to regulate emotions and adaptability. We identify the above mentioned positive factors and promote wellbeing through holistic approaches that focus on further enhancing strengths, self-compassion and resilience, based on your strengths, virtues, positive qualities, successes and meaning of life.
